Your stay in Bilbao

Welcome Centre

To help you with questions related to your mobility but not directly related to the academic part of it, the University of the Basque Country has a welcome centre called Welcome Centre where you can write to with your questions about visa arrangements, accommodation, etc.

You can contact the Welcome Centre at any time of the year by email at info.welcomecentre@ehu.eus. In addition, during the first weeks of each semester, the Welcome Centre opens a physical office in our School, located at the following address:

Bilbao School of Engineering - Office P1G11
Plaza Ingeniero Torres Quevedo, 1 - Bilbao
Telephone: +34 94 601 7365

You can check the Welcome Centre Office opening periods and opening hours at the following address here.

Accomodation

Most of our incoming students stay in shared flats in Bilbao and its surroundings. To help you in your search for accommodation, the University of the Basque Country offers different services, such as a list of flats to rent for students, accommodation with host families or residences. Get more information here.

Sports

The sports section of the University of the Basque Country, called EHUkirola, offers various sports activities for students of the university, which you can take part in as an exchange student. All the information is available at the following link.

As for sports facilities at our school, as it is an urban school, we do not have specific facilities for our students, but there is an agreement between the UPV/EHU and numerous sports centres in Bilbao, thanks to which university students can access their services at a very low cost. One of these centres is located in the San Mamés football stadium, right in front of our School (part of Bilbao Kirolak).

Life in Bilbao

Getting around Bilbao by public transport or walking is very easy and convenient. Here are some links that we consider to be of interest when getting around the city and coming to our school:

Next to our school is the Bilbao Intermodal bus station (also known as Termibus), from where you can travel to different parts of Spain and Europe.
